Interior Design Assistant

Design Assistant Luxury Interior Design Firm Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our design team on luxury residential and commercial projects. This role involves assisting with sourcing, project documentation, vendor communication, and installation coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and eager to grow within the interior design field. Responsibilities • Source and order fabrics, finishes, furniture, lighting, and accessories. • Maintain and organize material library and vendor resources. • Assist in preparing client presentations, mood boards, and proposals. • Draft and update floor plans, elevations, and schedules (AutoCAD/SketchUp proficiency preferred). • Prepare and track purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules. • Communicate with vendors, showrooms, and workrooms regarding pricing, availability, and order status. • Support installation days by coordinating deliveries, supervising placement, and assisting with styling. • Conduct site visits for measurements, photography, and documentation. • Maintain project files, binders, and digital records. • Provide general administrative support to the design team as needed. Qualifications • Degree in Interior Design or related field (preferred, not required). • 1–2 years of experience in interior design, architecture, or furnishings industry. • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign). • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of luxury furniture, textiles, and finishes is a plus. • Have own vehicle Details • Job Type: Full-time, on-site (with some off-site client/vendor visits) • Compensation: Based on experience • Reports to: Senior Designer + Principal Designer
