About this role
We are seeking an Interior Designer to support the design and execution of financial institution and commercial interior projects. This role blends client advisory, spatial planning, and technical drawing production.
The ideal candidate can take limited or evolving client input and translate it into thoughtful, compliant, and visually cohesive design solutions. This individual must be comfortable guiding decisions when scope details are missing while ensuring designs remain practical, secure, and construction ready.
Projects will primarily focus on banking environments, including branch modernizations and interior upgrades, with occasional support across other commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Design Strategy & Client AdvisoryLead branch design vision from concept through executionGuide financial institutions in defining look, feel, and customer experienceInterpret limited or evolving scope and propose clear, practical solutionsAlign interiors with brand standards while modernizing environmentsPresent design concepts, finishes, and layout options to stakeholdersInterior Architectural DesignDevelop branch layouts that optimize customer flow and operational efficiencyDesign teller lines, TCR placement, ATM integration, secure zones, and consultation areasEnsure compliance with ADA, security protocols, and commercial building standardsBalance aesthetics with constructability and budget constraintsTechnical ProductionProduce 2D and 3D drawings (plans, elevations, renderings)Develop detailed finish packages and material specificationsCreate layout options and visualization packages for decision makingPrepare construction ready drawing setsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with project managers and Sales executivesAdjust designs based on field conditions and real-world constraintsSupport multi-site rollout programs when requiredAll other duties as assigned
Core Competencies
Strong spatial planning and layout optimization skillsAbility to confidently “design ahead” when scope or direction is incompleteUnderstanding of financial institution design (teller lines, TCR placement, ATM integration, secure zones)Knowledge of commercial interior build standardsDetail-oriented with strong construction awarenessClient-facing confidence and advisory capabilityStrong balance of creativity and technical precisionClear communication and presentation skills
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in commercial or financial interior designProficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (required)Experience producing construction ready drawing setsFamiliarity with ADA compliance and commercial building codesPortfolio demonstrating banking, retail, or commercial projectsAbility to manage projects independently
