Industrial Designer (Display Engineering Focus)

This role requires hands‑on experience designing and engineering retail displays (permanent or semi‑permanent). Packaging‑only backgrounds will not be a fit. Our agency is partnering with a long‑established design and manufacturing organization to hire an Industrial Designer with strong display engineering experience. This position supports national design teams and focuses on creating multi‑material retail displays, fixtures, and product solutions using SolidWorks. What You’ll Do Design and engineer retail displays, merchandising fixtures, and product solutionsCreate CAD models, assemblies, and engineering documentation in SolidWorksProduce concept renderings and visualizations (SolidWorks Visualize a plus)Work across materials including metal, wood, plastics, thermoforming, corrugate, and chipboardTranslate customer requirements into manufacturable, cost‑effective solutionsCollaborate with design, engineering, and international manufacturing teamsSupport product development and packaging initiatives as neededParticipate in occasional client visits for design reviews and development meetings Types of Projects POP displays (temporary, semi‑permanent, permanent)Multi‑material retail fixturesConsumer and industrial packagingNew product development across multiple markets What We’re Looking For 3+ years in display design, product design, or structural engineeringDisplay engineering experience is requiredHigh proficiency in SolidWorksStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and production methodsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environmentStrong sketching, visualization, and communication skillsBackground in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or similarDegree helpful, but hands‑on experience matters most Location & Schedule Must live in Rhode Island or Southern MassachusettsRemote/work‑from‑home with dedicated office setupMonday–Friday, 9–5Occasional Northeast travel for client meetingsLong‑term plan includes building a Providence‑based design center Base Compensation (depending on experience) $75,000 - $95,000
