Location: Heritage School of Interior Design, Denver, CO
Compensation: $35–$45/hour, commensurate with experience
Schedule: Saturdays from 9:00am - 5:30pm for 6 months each calendar year, beginning September 19th, 2026
Key Responsibilities
Lead Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective instruction for the 24-week Fundamentals of Interior Design Certification course, once per year.Classroom Hours: Teach in person on Saturdays from 9:00am - 5:30pm for 6 months each calendar year. Curriculum Delivery: Prepare and present class materials, exercises, and assignments aligned with established curriculum and learning objectives.Student Engagement: Guide students through the design process, providing feedback, support, and mentorship on all assignments and projects.Assessment & Grading: Evaluate student performance using clear grading rubrics and learning outcomes.Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Director to maintain and enhance course content based on student performance, feedback, and industry trends.Project Review: Oversee and critique final student projects and presentations.Professional Development: Stay current with industry standards, teaching methods, and design innovations through continued learning and engagement with the design community.Technology Integration: Use technology and digital tools to support learning outcomes where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Minimum 5 years (10,000 hours) of professional interior design experience (or accredited degree plus 2 years (4,000 hours) of relevant work experience.)Demonstrated excellence in verbal communication and presentation skills.High level of organization and attention to detail.Ability to manage a classroom with adult learners in an accelerated learning environment.Proficiency in core interior design concepts, topics and professional practices.Current, active experience in residential interior design.
Preferred:
Experience in teaching or training, especially in adult education.Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional best practices.
