Design Leader

Pay Range: $19.25 - $37.35 Purpose: The Design Leader plays a vital role in training and developing the design team, while driving sales for Floor and Decor. This position ensures that customers receive an exceptional sales experience through outstanding design services. Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design)6 years of interior design experience in lieu of design educationA combination of education and experience totaling 6 years3-5 years of leadership or management experienceKnowledge of hard surface flooring preferredProficient in basic mathematical skillsSelf-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsBasic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suiteWillingness to perform other duties as assignedInternal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a senior designer position, ADM role, or higherEssential Job Functions: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both residential and professional customers in the industryHire and nurture a motivated design team, including conducting performance evaluationsWelcome store customers in a friendly manner and assist with design walk-in inquiriesManage the appointment calendar for design consultations and develop clientele through networking and referralsProvide expert advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projectsDesign and sell comprehensive, functional, and visually appealing solutionsOversee multiple customer projects ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, maintaining clear communication with customers and team membersPartner with store leadership and team to effectively manage projects from inquiry through installation, aiming to achieve sales and other targetsSupport company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practicesMaintain the Design Center and adhere to company visual standardsStay informed on current and emerging design trends in the marketUtilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject, James Martin, and HousProEngage in local professional affiliations like ASID and NKBAPerform additional duties as necessaryWorking Conditions: Limited travel required, including car travelFrequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles, with a moderate to noisy noise levelPhysical/Sensory Requirements: Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
