Design Build Assistant Position Overview As Design Build Assistant, you are a key member of the design build team, supporting design development, project coordination, and execution. You work directly with clients, gather critical information, manage documentation, and ensure projects stay organized and on track. What You Will Do Site Visits & Client Engagement Support the Design Build Manager during client consultations and site visitsTake detailed measurements of all rooms, closets, cabinets, doorways, and architectural featuresCapture comprehensive before photos and videos from multiple anglesDocument client requests, special features, and design considerationsGather information about client lifestyle, preferences, and project prioritiesPrepare and organize all documentation for project files Design Support & Documentation Support the design development cycle by organizing inspiration photos and design referencesCreate and format design decks, mood boards, and layout documentsPrint and organize project binders and materialsCreate and update project schedules and timelinesMaintain organized digital and physical project filesTrack product selections and manage deliverable checklistsGather and organize final project photos and documentation Who Will Thrive In This Role You are organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in helping clients envision and create beautiful homes. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience in project coordination, design support, office management, or similar client-facing roleStrong organizational and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Suite, and document managementAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesReliable transportation and valid driver's license (you will attend client sites)Comfort with technology and ability to learn new toolsFluent in English Preferred Qualifications Experience in interior design, home redesign, staging, construction, home services, renovation, or design build environmentsExperience with design tools like CAD or CanvaAdvanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint (formulas, pivot tables, custom presentations) What Success Looks Like Projects are well-organized and all deliverables are professional and completeClients receive clear, timely communication and feel supportedAll project documentation is accurate and comprehensiveProject timelines are met and handoffs between phases are smoothTeam members can rely on you to maintain organization and trackingAll project hours are accurately documented and billableYou consistently contribute ideas for process improvements or better client communicationYou understand the client vision and help ensure all work aligns with their goals Compensation & Schedule This is an hourly position based in Houston. Projects are typically scheduled three to four days per week, though hours vary based on project workload and client needs. Most work hours are billable to client projects. Hourly rates are competitive and based on experience. Schedule flexibility is required. You will support transformative home design projects and be part of building Neatly.
