About The Role
In this role, you will collaborate with clients, architects, and production teams to design functional and visually compelling cabinetry solutions for residential and commercial spaces. You will bring both technical precision and creative vision to every project, ensuring designs are buildable, on-budget, and on-brand.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed cabinet designs using industry software (e.g., 2020 Design, Cabinet Vision, or similar CAD tools)Consult with clients to understand design preferences, spatial requirements, and budget constraintsProduce accurate shop drawings, cut lists, and material specifications for productionCollaborate with project managers, installers, and millwork teams throughout the project lifecycleEnsure designs comply with building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulationsManage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines with a high degree of accuracyAssist in selecting hardware, materials, and finishes to support design intentParticipate in site visits and field measurements as needed Qualifications Required:3-5 years of experience in cabinet design, millwork, or a closely related fieldProficiency in cabinet design software (2020 Design, Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, or equivalent)Strong understanding of construction methods, joinery techniques, and material propertiesAbility to read and interpret architectural and interior design plansExcellent attention to detail and spatial reasoning skillsStrong communication skills and experience working directly with clients
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or related fieldExperience with kitchen and bath design (NKBA certification a plus)Familiarity with CNC programming or manufacturing workflowsPortfolio demonstrating a range of completed residential and/or commercial project
