Role Description This is contracting, work-from-home Drafter role based in the Greater St. Louis area. The Drafter will prepare detailed architectural and interior design drawings, plans, and construction documents using CAD and related software under the direction of project designers and managers. Day-to-day tasks include converting design concepts and sketches into accurate technical drawings, updating and revising plans based on feedback, and ensuring drawings comply with applicable codes and project standards. The role also involves coordinating with project team members, organizing drawing sets, maintaining file documentation, and supporting the design process through layout, measurements, and basic design detailing. The Drafter will participate in project meetings as needed and help ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and with a high level of precision.
Qualifications
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for creating accurate technical drawings and plan sets.At least 5+years of experience drafting interior and/or architectural drawings.Employee must obtain their own active Autodesk Software LicenseStrong understanding of architectural and interior design principles, building layouts, and construction documentation.Ability to interpret design sketches, specifications, and building codes and translate them into clear, detailed drawings that meet project standards.Solid organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, maintain drawing files, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with designers, project managers, and other team members on-site.High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and consistency in all drafted materials.Relevant education such as an associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting, architectural technology, or a related field; comparable experience will be considered.
