Currently they are seeking Interior Project Engineers to add to their team in Wichita, KS. In this role, you will: Support the Design for Defense customer of modifications affecting interior commodities and systems, either by supporting requests for proposals and/or by executing approved modifications data packages. Be accountable for the team’s performance by providing deliverables on-time, within budget and with quality to support the business objectives. Provide technical leadership to WP 4 team members and responsibilities with respect to projects in work, or projects that are being proposed. Support requests for data, by communicating with subject matter experts and coordinating with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan modifications. Help the team to analyze and produce engineering documentation, including schedules (DPS), and be able to report performance. Review engineering designs and actively participate in the development and integration of modification solutions. Use your judgment and initiative to recognize the implications of the proposed modifications on other aircraft systems and installations. Coordinate and liaise with other departments, Work Packages, vendors and suppliers on projects. Provide design data to Certification Engineering team to support certification of projects. Provide visibility on the execution, issues and escalations, as needed, to your Lead and Manager. How to thrive in this role? Hold, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a significant equivalent history of working experience. You have 5 years of experience in aerospace industry. You have team or project leading experience. (preferred) You have very good analytical skills, are flexible, have a great sense of initiative, are an autonomous person capable of working with a minimum of supervision or in instances where there is a high level of upper management involvement. You have good project management skills and understand impact of deliverables on project schedules. You have a thirst for knowledge, like to discover the “why” and find solutions to problems. You are able to quickly absorb information and are ready to learn to support various requests. You are results-oriented, open-minded, able to easily change direction and pursue new avenues in order to successfully accomplish your projects. You are a team player, who easily integrates himself/herself to a group and is ready to help colleagues. You support and demonstrate a spirit of innovation, professionalism and commitment. You are an energetic person with excellent interpersonal skills, a high sense of commitment, and a willingness to accept responsibilities. You have knowledge of interior completion and green aircraft engineering. You have knowledge of aircraft certification (Type Design and Supplemental Type Design, major repairs/modification, etc.). Some travel and occasional overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines.
