ADMINISTRATIVE/DESIGN ASSISTANT [Part-Time]
Interior Matter is a full-service (and FUN) residential and commercial interior design firm covering metro Washington D.C. and beyond. Our Dupont Circle studio is currently seeking a part-time Administrative/Design Assistant. We nurture, collaborate, and have a team culture at our firm. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of administrative skills, be an excellent communicator, be highly organized, and be proactive.
Experience
2 years of administrative experience
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
Previous administrative experience for an interior design firm is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day office operations: manage internal office calendar and mail/package distribution, order and maintain supplies
Maintain the organization of the IM sample library with the design team
Work directly with the principal designer and design team in a collaborative environment
Assist with budget spreadsheet development and management
Assist with client presentation materials
Attend client meetings and record meeting notes as well as other support
Assist with administrative and organizational work
Assist with sample library maintenance
Work with clients, trades, vendors, and partner communications
Assist with marketing and social media
Occasionally pick up and deliver samples (or arrange courier) to showrooms and clients
Provide IT Assistance (printers, setting up new laptops)
Coordinate office repairs with building management
Assist with new team member onboarding
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Work under immediate supervision; however, must also be able to work independently and proactively on projects without supervision
Must be very organized and efficient
Part-time: 4-6 hours a day, Monday-Friday
Salary:
Starting at $25/hr
Location: In-person, not remote
Please note that this role requires physical work including carrying packages up and down stairs. Must be able to lift 40lbs.
Additioanlly, please also note that our office is on the first floor of a building with no elevators and is only accessible via stairs from the street. Street parking is available but limited. We are proximal to Dupont Circle Metro stop.
