Job Purpose
To provide excellent service to select major accounts by managing all aspects of client relationships and project execution. This includes developing and presenting creative furniture solutions, producing technical drawings and specifications, meeting sales and profit goals, and ensuring customer objectives are met from initial concept through installation.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship & Account Management
Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for select major accountsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and end usersMeet or exceed annual sales and profit goalsConduct regular reviews and action plans to identify growth opportunities and ensure customer needs are metMaintain understanding of key purchasing contracts and customer standardsProvide educational and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and loyalty
Design & Technical Execution
Develop creative furniture solutions that meet project needs and customer objectivesAttend customer meetings to present furniture concepts, space plans, and finish selections for approvalHost live design sessions to engage the client by taking their immediate feedback to refine solutionsProduce technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and CET, including block plans, working drawings, and as-builtsConduct site reviews, field measurements, and programming interviews with end usersValidate plans against construction and A&D drawing setsDevelop product specifications, manage revisions, and maintain project documentation
Project & Installation Coordination
Coordinate with project managers, installation crews, and contractors to ensure successful executionConduct walkthroughs and ensure final punch items are resolvedEnsure warranty issues are resolved in a timely mannerManage project budgets and timelinesMaintain CRM and project records according to company protocol
Professional Development
Stay current on industry trends, new product offerings, and best practicesResearch and monitor competitors to identify strategic opportunitiesEmbrace new technologies and follow established company processes
Required Skills & Knowledge
Technical Proficiency
Proficiency in AutoCADGeneral Computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, and WordExperience with CET is preferred, but not requiredAbility to learn different as well as new and emerging technologiesExperience with Hedberg is a plus
Design & Product Knowledge
Solid knowledge of best practices for furniture design and space planningStrong furniture product knowledge with ability to learn and apply new products quickly
Professional Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong customer service focus and sales aptitudeHighly organized with strong attention to detailExcellent problem-solving ability and follow-throughAbility to work independently or as a part of a team, multi-task, and prioritize under pressure
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture Or equivalent related field experience
Experience: 2+ years in furniture/office/space planning (dealership or manufacturer experience preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportationAbility to walk moderate distances, climb stairs, and navigate unfinished building environments during site visits
