About this role

About Crave Design Co. Crave Design Co. is a San Diego–based interior design studio specializing in creative, out-of-the-box restaurant, café, and bar concepts across the U.S. We design spaces with story, edge, and flavor — from fiery hot-chicken joints to artistic coffee shops and coastal speakeasies. We’re looking for an experienced SketchUp + AutoCAD Designer who can translate ideas into organized, professional design files that follow our Crave standards and SOPs. About the Role We need a highly skilled production designer — someone who thrives on precision, consistency, and detail. You’ll work on real hospitality projects, building 3D models and drawings that become client presentations and construction documentation. This is not a training role. You should already be fluent in SketchUp, Layout, and AutoCAD, and comfortable working within a fast-paced design studio environment. Responsibilities • Model restaurant and café interiors (1,500–5,000 sq ft) in SketchUp, organized by layers, tags, and components • Create elevation sheets in Layout using Crave’s templates and standards • Draft floor plans, lighting plans, and details in AutoCAD • Maintain consistency between 3D models, Layout elevations, and CAD drawings • Ensure file accuracy, naming consistency, and proper scaling across all documents • Follow Crave’s SOPs precisely and meet project deadlines • Communicate clearly and proactively with the design team on progress and revisions Requirements • Advanced proficiency in SketchUp + Layout (required) • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (required) • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in interior or architectural design documentation (not student work) • Proven attention to detail and technical accuracy • Portfolio examples showing both SketchUp models and technical drawings you’ve personally created • Excellent communication and organizational skills Bonus Points • Experience in hospitality, retail, or restaurant design • Knowledge of rendering software (V-Ray, Enscape, or similar) • Understanding of materials, lighting, and FF&E documentation How to Apply Please include: • A brief introduction about your design and documentation experience. • 2–3 examples of AutoCAD drawings and/or Layout sheets that show your technical ability. • Your hourly rate and typical turnaround time for a 1,500–2,000 sq ft interior project. Next Step: Proficiency Test Shortlisted candidates will complete a Proficiency Test to confirm accuracy, file organization, and understanding of Crave standards. The test includes a small modeling and documentation task to demonstrate workflow and attention to detail. Our Vibe We move fast, love creative energy, and design with personality. If you’re detail-driven, technically sharp, and ready to collaborate on fun hospitality projects that actually get built — we’d love to meet you.
