Full-Time Faculty and Chair, BDes in Interior Design

The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Interior Design. Assist in recruiting incoming cohorts, including meeting with prospective students and their families to address any questions about the program Advise BDes students of courses and registration Plan and schedule all BDes Interior Design courses, coordinating course outcomes with the online program coordinator and working with the Registrar’s Office Team to get courses published in the catalog and appropriately scheduled Identify adjunct faculty to teach fall 2026, spring 2027, and fall 2027 BDes Interior Design courses Work with the Dean and Provost to identify and procure facilities, IT, and other related requirements and resources for first and second year programming based upon the program proposal Collaborate on curriculum and accreditation work with the Academic Program Lead and Dean of the School of Creative and Professional Studies for the online version of the Bdes in Interior Design Teaching four undergraduate studio classes per academic year, (2 Fall, 2 Spring). BS, BDes) in Interior Design, or related field Teaching experience at the college level beyond graduate assistantships, with a proven ability to teach foundational design methods and first-year students through advanced courses A minimum of two years of academic leadership in higher education Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The BDes in Interior Design at MICA is a 120-credit program that equips licensed creative professionals with advanced skills in the field of Interior Design. The purpose of the Bachelor’s of Design in Interior Design degree is to equip individuals with technical art and design skills to become interior designers while also preparing them to engage with interior design as a professional practice.
